And just like that September is over! Here's the goods from our week:
Any student that does not complete their work in class, it will be considered homework. If it is not completed they will be missing their recess to complete it. Also, it must be completed neatly and correctly.
Friday, October 7th is the Fun Walk! We are halfway to our school goal. To visit the website for donations please click here.

WOW!!! We are sure on the move in our class! Everything is falling into place and routines are being made. I cannot even begin to tell you how proud I am of the students! They have been doing AMAZING!!! Some big firsts that happened this week:
PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE ALL STUDENTS NEED TO PRACTICE THEIR MULTIPLICATION FACTS! They need to know these fluently. They should practice daily at home-10 minutes, in the car, over breakfast, at dinner, you get the idea.
We are working on The Midwest Region in Social Studies. We use began the unit. We have a few activities planned with the students so they can make connections.
4th Grade Math: Students are working on place value, rounding and estimation, ordering numbers and we will soon be getting into addition with larger numbers.
3rd Grade Math: Students are working on MULTIPLICATION. Miss Miller joins us for math and reading and working diligently with them on their math facts.
THE FUN WALK is coming October 6th! Please help support Violet School.

We completed our NWEA math and reading tests this week. We also took a pretest for unit one in math as well. Next week we will begin our "normal" schedule.
I am very pleased with how well the students are adapting to a multigrade. We have done whole group work where the 3rd graders are challenged in math and have also made connections to what is being taught in each grade level.
We began our reading program as we squeezed it in-between testing. Students have their spelling words. Each reading lesson should last one week. Because it is our first and with testing, scheduling we will complete lesson 1 next Friday.
It is VERY IMPORTANT THAT ALL STUDENTS PRACTICE THEIR MULTIPLICATION MATH FACTS!!!
We will be getting our chromebooks soon! Your child will need a pair of headphones/earbuds. If they would like they may also bring in their own mouse which they can keep in their bags. More information will be coming home.
